Position Overview & Role Purpose:
Are you an experienced and skilled mechanical technician with specialized expertise in heavy commercial vehicles? Al-Futtaim Automotive (DOMASCO) is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Technician to join its commercial vehicle service and workshop team in Doha, Qatar.
In this vital hands-on technical role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial trucks, buses, and heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring absolute vehicle reliability, safety, and optimal operational performance for fleet and retail customers.

Key Responsibilities & Maintenance Duties:
1. Diagnosis & Mechanical Repairs:
– Perform advanced diagnostic assessments on commercial vehicle engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension systems, and electrical networks using specialized diagnostic equipment.
– Carry out complex mechanical overhauls, engine tuning, clutch replacements, and hydraulic system repairs according to manufacturer technical specifications.
– Execute scheduled preventive maintenance servicing, fluid changes, and safety inspections for heavy fleets.
2. Quality Assurance & Workshop Safety:
– Ensure all repair work is completed thoroughly and tested to meet high safety and quality standards before vehicle release.
– Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in compliance with company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
– Accurately document all completed work orders, parts usage, and diagnostic findings in the workshop management system.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
– Collaborate smoothly with service advisors, parts department personnel, and workshop supervisors to ensure prompt turnaround times and clear customer communication.
– Stay updated on technical bulletins, product enhancements, and manufacturer service guidelines.
Qualifications, Required Experience & Core Competencies:
– Academic Credentials:
* High School Diploma with a vocational trade certificate, diploma, or technical certification in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
– Professional Experience:
* Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in repairing and servicing heavy commercial vehicles, trucks, or buses within a recognized dealership or large-scale fleet workshop.
– Skills & Personal Attributes:
* Comprehensive mastery of mechanical diagnostic tools, hydraulic systems, pneumatic brakes, and diesel engine technologies.
* Strong problem-solving abilities, physical stamina, and a detail-oriented work ethic.
* Professional fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic language proficiency is a strong advantage.
