Position Overview & Role Purpose:
Omni G42 is seeking a dedicated Security Engineer (DFIR Lab) to manage and maintain the Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) Lab’s infrastructure, hardware, software, processes, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties:
– Maintain and manage the team’s DFIR lab hardware, software systems, and network infrastructure.
– Develop and maintain automation scripts or tools to optimize workflows and improve lab efficiency.
– Create standard operating procedures (SOPs), document forensic workflows, configure lab guidelines, and support continuous service improvement.
– Collaborate with internal teams and customers to deploy necessary hardware and software for assessments and incident response engagements.
– Execute technical lab tasks to support cyber incident response operations.
Qualifications, Required Experience & Technical Competencies:
– Minimum Experience: 5+ years of hands-on working experience in a technical lab, data center, system engineering, or DFIR team setting up scalable technical environments.
– Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Engineering is desirable, though not mandatory.
– Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Linux system administration, networking devices (switches, routers, firewalls), storage devices (NAS), virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi), and baseline system configuration across Windows, Linux/Unix, and macOS environments.
– Desired Certifications: At least one professional certification in Incident Response, Digital Forensics, Cloud Computing, Linux/Windows Administration, Penetration Testing, or Security Engineering (e.g., CCE, CHFI, GCFE, INE Security, or vendor certifications from Microsoft, Azure, VMware, or RedHat).
