Team Leader – Grocery

Position Overview & Role Purpose:

Are you an energetic and results-driven retail professional with a passion for customer service and store operations? Majid Al Futtaim is seeking a dedicated Team Leader – Grocery to join its Carrefour retail operations team in Kuwait.

In this vital supervisory role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily supermarket floor operations, managing stock replenishment, maintaining merchandising standards, supervising shop floor staff, and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for every customer.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties:

1. Floor Operations & Inventory Management:

– Supervise daily grocery department operations, including stock rotation, shelf replenishment, product display, and price tagging.

– Monitor inventory levels, track fast-moving and slow-moving items, and coordinate with the supply chain team to prevent stockouts.

– Conduct regular stock counts and manage waste reduction, shrinkage control, and inventory accuracy.

2. Merchandising & Visual Standards:

– Ensure adherence to corporate visual merchandising guidelines, planograms, and promotional setups across grocery aisles.

– Maintain impeccable hygiene, cleanliness, health, and safety standards in all shopping and storage areas in compliance with Kuwait regulations.

3. Team Leadership & Customer Service:

– Lead, mentor, and motivate retail associates, creating duty rosters and organizing daily workflow assignments.

– Handle customer inquiries and escalations promptly, delivering outstanding service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

– Collaborate with store management to achieve sales targets, margin goals, and operational efficiency metrics.

Qualifications, Required Experience & Core Competencies:

– Academic Credentials:

* High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce, or a related field.

– Professional Experience:

* Minimum 2 to 4 years of retail operations experience, with at least 1 to 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity within a supermarket, hypermarket, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.

– Skills & Personal Attributes:

* Strong working knowledge of retail management systems (POS, inventory tracking software) and Microsoft Office.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

* Professional fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic language proficiency is a strong advantage.
