Store Manager

Position Overview & Role Purpose:

Are you an inspirational retail leader with a proven track record of driving sales growth, operational excellence, and team development? Majid Al Futtaim is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Store Manager to lead its Carrefour hypermarket or supermarket operations in Kuwait.

In this pivotal executive retail role, you will assume total P&L ownership of the store, orchestrating daily retail operations, inventory management, visual merchandising, customer experience standards, and regulatory compliance while inspiring a large multicultural team to achieve peak performance.

Key Responsibilities & Store Management Duties:

1. P&L Management & Commercial Performance:

– Drive store revenue, gross margins, inventory turnover, and profitability targets to achieve annual financial budgets.

– Analyze sales reports, customer footfall trends, and market metrics to implement effective commercial strategies and promotional campaigns.

– Monitor shrink control, waste management, and operational expense budgets rigorously.

2. Operations & Quality Assurance:

– Oversee end-to-end hypermarket/supermarket operations, including supply chain flow, back-of-house logistics, pricing integrity, and asset protection.

– Ensure strict adherence to corporate health, safety, food hygiene, and labor regulations mandated by Kuwaiti authorities.

– Maintain impeccable visual merchandising, stock availability, and service standards across all departments (Fresh Food, Grocery, Non-Food, Checkouts).

3. People Leadership & Talent Development:

– Lead, mentor, and empower department managers and frontline team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer first.

– Manage workforce planning, shift scheduling, performance evaluations, and ongoing staff training initiatives.

– Resolve customer escalations swiftly and maintain positive engagement with local community and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications, Required Experience & Core Competencies:

– Academic Credentials:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce, or a related field.

– Professional Experience:

* Minimum 7 to 10 years of progressive retail management experience, with at least 4 to 5 years holding a Store Manager or General Manager position within a large-scale hypermarket, supermarket, or major retail chain environment.

– Skills & Personal Attributes:

* Exceptional financial acumen, P&L accountability, and strategic business planning skills.

* Strong mastery of retail management systems (POS, ERP, inventory software) and Microsoft Office.

* Outstanding leadership, communication, negotiation, and crisis-management abilities.

* Professional fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic language proficiency is a strong advantage.
