CLINICAL STAFF PHARMACIST

Comprehensive Position Overview & Organizational Purpose:

Sidra Medicine in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a dedicated Clinical Staff Pharmacist for Inpatient Services to provide pharmaceutical services through optimizing pharmaceutical use and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals. The role involves proactive therapeutic interventions, accurate drug information delivery, and ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective medication management standards.

Key Responsibilities & Core Duties:

– Medication Review & Verification: Reviews patients’ medication orders for efficacy, safety, and appropriateness; verifies orders and checks medications prepared by pharmacy technicians prior to dispensing.

– Clinical & Therapeutic Monitoring: Performs medication reconciliation on admission and discharge, monitors therapeutic drug levels, and conducts Drug-Drug, Drug-Lab, Drug-Food, and Drug-Disease monitoring.

– Patient Care & Safety: Provides drug information to prescribers and nurses, monitors and reports adverse drug reactions, and adheres to JCI-aligned patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.

– Education & Mentorship: Provides in-service education, mentors pharmacy students and residents, and participates in training orientation programs.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

– Educational Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy/BPharm or Master of Science in Pharmacy/MPharm from an ACPE accredited college (Doctor of Pharmacy/Pharm.D or Postgraduate Diploma preferred).

– Professional Experience: 3+ years of experience as a licensed/registered Clinical Staff Pharmacist in a recognized pediatric/women’s hospital (or 0 years for recent graduates of the Qatar University Pharm.D program).

– Licensing Requirements: Licensed in pharmacy in the country of origin and eligibility to obtain the State of Qatar Pharmacy License after onboarding.
