About the role
The teacher plans and delivers Social Studies to middle-school students, keeps assessment records and supports student wellbeing. GEMS expects subject knowledge, classroom management and safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver the required Social Studies curriculum.
Plan lessons that cover different learning styles.
Keep planning, attendance, resource and assessment records.
Assess, record and report student progress.
Support student wellbeing and educational guidance.
Work with colleagues on materials and pastoral arrangements.
Communicate with parents while keeping student information confidential.

This role suits a qualified Social Studies or Humanities teacher with middle-school classroom experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
Relevant degree plus a recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed / PGCE or equivalent). Distance or open-university routes are often not accepted.
Typically 2+ years’ teaching experience.
Strong English.
IT and classroom communication skill.
UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
