Position Overview & Role Purpose:

Are you a skilled and detail-oriented artisan with expertise in carpentry and woodwork maintenance? Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island (an Accor property) is seeking a dedicated Carpenter to join its engineering and facilities maintenance team in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

In this vital technical role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining wooden fixtures, furniture, doors, frames, flooring, and architectural finishes across the resort, ensuring absolute structural integrity and aesthetic excellence.

Key Responsibilities & Maintenance Duties:

1. Carpentry & Woodwork Operations:

– Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all wooden furniture, doors, locks, frames, wall panels, skirting, and decorative fixtures throughout guest rooms, restaurants, and public areas.

– Build, cut, assemble, and install custom wooden structures, cabinetry, and fixtures according to blueprints or design specifications.

– Repair damaged furniture, upholstery support frameworks, parquet flooring, and architectural woodwork promptly.

2. Preventive Maintenance & Safety Compliance:

– Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs to maintain property assets and prevent wear and tear.

– Ensure strict compliance with local UAE building codes, health and safety regulations, and fire safety protocols in the workshop and on-site.

– Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work orders, timber inventory, and hardware supplies.

3. Cross-Functional Support & Workshop Upkeep:

– Collaborate smoothly with the engineering, housekeeping, and front office teams to resolve room maintenance issues prior to guest check-in.

– Keep the carpentry workshop, tools, and machinery clean, organized, and safely operated.

– Adhere to hotel energy-conservation initiatives and sustainability guidelines.

Qualifications, Required Experience & Core Competencies:

– Academic Credentials:

* High School Diploma with a vocational trade certificate or diploma in Carpentry or Woodworking.

– Professional Experience:

* Minimum 2 to 4 years of hands-on carpentry experience, preferably within a 4- or 5-star hotel, resort, or large-scale commercial property environment.

– Skills & Personal Attributes:

* Comprehensive mastery of woodworking tools, power machinery, joinery techniques, and hardware installation.

* Strong problem-solving abilities, physical stamina, and a detail-oriented work ethic.

* Professional fluency in written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
