Hardware Engineer

Position Overview & Role Purpose:

Handle hardware engineering and modernization projects (retrofitting) for rail vehicles and rolling stock systems, creating technical solutions and schematics to ensure the safety and reliability of public transport infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties:

– Design and develop hardware solutions, electrical schematics, and modernization concepts for railway vehicles and retrofitting projects.

– Utilize CAD tools (such as AutoCAD, ELCAD, or ECSCAD) to create and modify technical documentation.

– Ensure alignment with relevant railway standards and compliance frameworks such as CENELEC and TSI.

– Collaborate closely with cross-functional technical teams, system architects, and software engineers during implementation and testing phases.

Qualifications, Required Experience & Core Competencies:

– Education: Secondary (High School) or University degree in a technical field—ideally Electrical Engineering.

– Experience: Mid-level professional experience in hardware engineering, electrical design, or railway modernization projects.

– Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in English or German (minimum B1/B2 level).

– Core Skills: Strong attention to detail, logical problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with rolling stock components and railway standards.
