Cashier

Position Overview & Role Purpose:

The Cashier is responsible to handle the cash register systems and sales transaction. The cashier is responsible for greeting, assisting, and serving customers to create a great customer experience and achieve high sales.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties:

– Maintain enough amounts of change in cash drawer and ensure float is correct.

– Keep register area neat and stocked with necessary supplies.

– Report cash discrepancies and maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the cash desk.

– Ensure that consumable materials (such as bags, rolls, etc.) are replenished throughout the day and marketing/communication tools are properly displayed.

– Ensure all items/purchases are scanned properly into cash register to calculate total purchase price.

– Accept cash, bankcards, vouchers, foreign currencies for payment and complete check and bankcard transactions according to established procedure.

– Count money carefully, give change, and issue receipt for payment received.

– Stay aware of all security issues, perform an effective handover with the next shift cashier, and conduct proper cashier closing and reporting at the end of the shift.

Qualifications, Required Experience & Core Competencies:

– Education: High School Degree.

– Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in MS Office, basic math, interpersonal communication, product knowledge, attention to details, and punctuality.
