The CSSD Technician is responsible for the decontamination, disassembly, cleaning, testing, sterilization, and distribution of reusable medical devices and equipment across hospital departments. This role ensures adherence to safe working protocols, daily equipment validation, quality inspection, accurate inventory management, and strict safety compliance.
​Key Responsibilities:
​Receive, disassemble, clean, inspect, and test contaminated medical equipment per established protocols.
​Operate and test washer-disinfectors, sterilizers, driers, and other decontamination machinery; escalate non-conforming test results to supervisors.
​Perform quality checks for cleanliness and completeness prior to distributing supplies to wards, departments, and operating theaters.
​Conduct and document daily validation and functionality tests on decontamination machinery and reusable medical devices.
​Issue sterile goods, maintain holding stock levels, and assist in supply restocking.
​Receive and document incoming goods, verify delivery notes, and record non-conformances.
​Comply with workplace safety policies, take measures to eliminate hazards, report incidents or injuries, and complete mandatory training.
​Qualifications & Requirements:
​Education: Associate Degree in CSS technology (minimum 2 years duration) OR a certificate in any health-related field.
​Licensure & Certifications:
​DOH license is mandatory.
​Certification by the Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) USA OR the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM).
​Valid licenses and registrations from all previous countries of practice.
