A Clinical Coder is required in Dubai to encode medical diagnoses and procedures using International Classification of Diseases (ICD) systems. The role involves entering patient details into database systems, managing billing compliance, reviewing electronic statements, and tracking insurer approvals.
​Key Responsibilities:
​Encode diagnoses and procedures performed by attending physicians using ICD coding.
​Abstract demographic, statistical, and medical data from patient records into the coding system.
​Review Electronic Medical Records (EMR), claim forms, prescribed diagnostics, and pharmacy items for accuracy.
​Apply CPT-4 procedure codes for principal and secondary procedures in outpatient billing.
​Verify insurance approval tracks for services (e.g., CT, MRI, surgical procedures) and confirm billed services match insurer approvals.
​Review Coding Edit Engine of Dubai (CEED) filtered medical necessity edits and resolve physician queries.
​Estimate costs for self-pay patients and manage timely batch closures for insurance, corporate, and self-pay accounts.
​Qualifications & Requirements:
​Education: Bachelor’s Degree in any field (Medical preferred).
​Certifications: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) accredited by AHIMA or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) accredited by AAPC.
​Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in ICD-9-CM or ICD-10 coding within a claims environment.
​Skills: Knowledge of UAE health insurance policy terms, MS Office proficiency, fluency in English, and Arabic communication skills (preferred).
