Al Tayer Stocks is looking for an experienced Planning Manager in United Arab Emirates.

The role is responsible for managing and improving turnkey project work programmes according to project guidelines and for tracking progress against the plan so that projects finish on time. The position also ensures that extension of time claims are prepared promptly and on the correct contractual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of overall project planning and related contract management activities for the Operations Department and critical projects from start to finish.

Study project scope, coordinate with clients, suppliers and internal departments, then plan, schedule and control all relevant work using the approved systems.

Prepare the project methodology for the technical submittal after reviewing BOQ, drawings and specifications together with the Operations Manager or Senior Projects Manager.

Assess available planning resources and allocate projects to the planning team according to capacity and requirements.

Set weekly and monthly activity targets for the projects team and track them through individual project trackers.

Standardise the labour forecast process for productivity durations across all programmes.

Train Site Engineers on setting up and updating trackers so that project progress can be managed in detail.

Hold monthly planning sessions so that site and operations teams remain aware of critical tasks and look-ahead schedules.

Compile progress reports and dashboards with the project manager’s input, recommend corrective actions for delays, and ensure weekly flash reports reach senior management.

Maintain a projects dashboard that shows overall project movement, staff allocation and target schedules to support decision-making.

Carry out delay analysis, recommend mitigation measures, and support extension of time claims using contractual methods such as Window, Impact as Planned and Updated Impact analysis.

Prepare manpower histograms and internal labour forecasts, track actual versus budget weekly, and raise early warnings on missed targets.

Support estimation with planning inputs for future bids and duration calculations.

Guide and motivate the planning team, set development goals, and align schedules with senior management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering.
Good working knowledge of Primavera and MS Project is essential.
7 to 10 years’ experience in fit-out or building projects, including 3 to 5 years in a managerial capacity, with proven ability to handle the full planning process on high-value projects independently or while leading a team.
