QatarEnergy is looking for an experienced SR. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER in Ras Laffan, Qatar.
This specialist role supports major Ras Laffan facilities such as common cooling-water systems, desalinated and potable water networks, waste-management plants and treated-water distribution. The engineer sets standards and guidelines and troubleshoots technical problems.
About the role
The work covers conceptual and facilities design, project design and management, start-up, troubleshooting and commissioning in oil, gas and petrochemical utilities. A large part of the experience should be in a senior supervisory seat on major projects.
Key Responsibilities
Give specialist electrical support to department divisions for major utilities and related facilities.
Establish engineering standards and technical guidelines for department facilities and Ras Laffan projects.
Bring current process, engineering, safety and environmental practice into those standards.
Troubleshoot technical problems using fundamental engineering principles.
Support design, start-up and commissioning of facilities.
Work to tight deadlines with contractors and internal teams.
Who this role is suitable for
This role suits a senior electrical engineer who has already supervised major oil, gas or petrochemical utility projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
12–15 years of varied experience in the relevant engineering discipline, including concept and facilities design, project design and management, start-up, troubleshooting and commissioning in oil, gas and petrochemicals.
5–8 years in a senior supervisory role on major projects.
Strong communication, influencing, presentation and negotiation skills.
Computer literacy with technical and simulation packages.
Strong leadership and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
B.E. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with chartered membership of the relevant institute.
