Senior Planning Engineer – Oil and Gas Capital Projects, Doha

QatarEnergy is looking for an experienced SR. PLANNING ENGINEER in Doha, Qatar.

 

This planning role covers project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, progress verification and reporting from initiation to close-out. The work sits on large oil-and-gas capital and portfolio projects, including onshore brownfield and greenfield work.

 

About the role

 

The planner handles EPC lifecycle planning, pre-commissioning and commissioning plans, and shutdown schedules. Primavera is required. GCC experience is desirable.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Plan, schedule and monitor assigned projects from start to close-out.

 

Verify progress and produce planning reports.

 

Cover engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning in the plan.

 

Build pre-commissioning and commissioning plans, including system-wise handover.

 

Develop shutdown schedules for pre-shutdown, execution and post-shutdown work.

 

Handle forecasting, trending, risk, variations and claims analysis.

 

Use MS Office and project-control software, including Primavera.

 

Who this role is suitable for

 

This role suits a senior planner who has already planned large oil-and-gas plants, refineries or onshore pipelines.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

 

Minimum 15 years’ planning experience in oil and gas, including large capital or portfolio projects with onshore brownfield and greenfield work such as gas plants, refineries and onshore pipelines.

 

Preferably 5 years in a national or international oil company.

 

EPC lifecycle experience covering engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.

 

Pre-commissioning and commissioning planning experience.

 

Shutdown-schedule experience across the full cycle.

 

Experience in planning, scheduling, project control, forecasting, trending, risk, variations and progress verification.

 

High computer literacy with MS Office and Primavera. Primavera Risk Analysis and Power BI are useful.

 

GCC work experience is desirable.

 

Strong analytical and reporting skills.
