Comprehensive Position Overview & Organizational Purpose:
King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) in Riyadh is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist II for the East Wing Pharmacy (Unit)-R. The role is responsible for verifying medication orders, dispensing medications, counseling patients, and preparing or filling orders and prescriptions in accordance with accepted standards and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities & Core Duties:
– Medication Preparation & Dispensing: Assists in preparation, filling, compounding, and dispensing sterile and non-sterile medications, including anti-neoplastic agents.
– Order Evaluation: Reviews, evaluates, and processes medication orders for demographic data, appropriateness of therapy, dosage, route, interactions, and possible drug interactions.
– Patient Counseling: Advises and counsels patients and answers questions about medications regarding indications, side effects, and drug interactions.
– Documentation & Clinical Support: Documents clinical interventions in the electronic health information system and guides healthcare providers with medication management and drug information.
– Quality Assurance & Compliance: Maintains control and security of medications, participates in performance/quality improvement projects, and follows all hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
– Educational Requirements: Pharm.D or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy is required.
– Professional Experience: Two (2) years of related clinical experience is required.
– Licensing Requirements: Active registration and professional licensing eligibility with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
